Famille Helfrich to release first vintage from Margaux property, Château La Fortune

Famille Helfrich, the premium on-trade and independents arm of Les Grands Chais de France (Groupe GCF), continues to focus on quality as the company announces the imminent release of the first vintage from its Château La Fortune in Margaux.  The 2015 vintage will be exclusive to on-trade and independents in the UK market and Family Helfrich will soon release the 2016 en primeurs. Both vintages are exceptional and have regularly scored > 90 pts from the major wine critics.

Château La Fortune is the first property that the Helfrich family has purchased in Margaux and together with the help of influential Bordeaux-based oenologist Michel Rolland, they have managed Château La Fortune since 2014. Nestled in one of the most famous appellations of Bordeaux, Château La Fortune was chosen because of its superb location and exceptional terroir. This parcel of 2.5 hectares is found between two famous Margaux properties: Château Lascombes and Château Labegorce.

“We have a talented team at Château La Fortune and the release of the 2015, the first vintage 100% managed by our team, is a significant and exciting occasion as we push ahead with our focus on high quality wines with tremendous finesse,” comments Chris Davies, Sales Director of Family Helfrich, On-trade and Independents division of GCF.  “Having developed expertise and gained experience with many other premium properties throughout France, the team at Famille Helfrich together with Michel Rolland have applied a highly tailored approach in order to bring out the best in this great wine from our first property in this prestigious appellation.”
