Les Grands Chais de France announce major Calvet on-trade launch at the LWF on stand F40
Les Grands Chais de France (GCF), the largest independent supplier of French wines into the UK, and owner of the largest Châteaux and Domaine business in the on-trade, is announcing a major launch on its stand F40 at the LWF this year, as it unveils the brand new Calvet range exclusively for on-trade and independents.
With stylish, contemporary new packaging designed uniquely for the on-trade and the indies, the new Calvet branded range is constructed of three quality tiers;
C de Calvet –
Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Rosé varietals
Héritage – AOP wines from the most popular French appellations
Cuvée 1818 – a premium Bordeaux icon wine at the top of the range
“Following fantastic growth for Calvet in the off-trade which has seen it become the #1 French brand in the UK and also a pan-appellation brand stretching across France’s wine growing regions, and also in response to a growing demand in the market place, we decided the time was right to develop a new range of quality wines under the Calvet brand that would respond effectively to the current needs of our on-trade and independent customers,” comments Chris Davies, Sales Director of Famillie Helfreich, On-trade and Independents division of GCF. He continues, “Calvet 1818, a premium Bordeaux AOC and the icon wine in the new range, has been specifically made in Bordeaux where the brand began to mark Calvet’s 200th anniversary which we will be celebrating in style in 2018. “Other highlights on the stand include BDX, a new Merlot based Bordeaux claret in colourful, funky packaging, under screwcap, made exclusively for on-trade and independents, created as part of a new initiative by GCF to make their Bordeaux offering more accessible and easier for wine drinkers to understand.
Visitors to the LWF are invited to drop by the GCF stand F40 each day to taste the specially chosen Wine of the Day, each of which will be presented by the winemaker and paired with a range of delicious homemade canapés.
