Sales of Nozeco, the UK’s leading alcohol-free* sparkling wine brand owned by GCF, more than doubled in 2021, rocketing by 115%.
Nozeco is made from de-alcoholised wine at GCF’s production facility in Landiras near Bordeaux, where a brand new de-alcoholisation plant has recently been completed using a state-of-the-art process to enable the aromas to be kept intact and improve overall product quality. Nozeco has an abv of less than 0.5% and is also 100% vegan.
Since its launch in 2019, Nozeco has taken the booming no and low category by storm, and in 2021 it was awarded a silver medal at the IWSC with a score of 90 points.
The current core UK available range consists of the Brut and Rosé in 75cl and in 20cl format. Nozeco Bucks Fizz is also available and more brand extensions are planned for 2022.
Mark Kears, MD for UK and Ireland for GCF says. “The significant uplift in sales last year reflects how well Nozeco responds to the surging demand for alcohol free drinks. The brand has seen such a high level of early adoption in the UK that it has rapidly become the category leader with the power to draw consumers into the no alcohol sector, making it a must-stock product.”
He continues, “Nozeco’s USP is its capacity to embody the spirit of community and inclusivity which we are all reaching for now after the restrictions of the past two years. Not drinking alcohol no longer means being separated from the group, or staying at home, instead with Nozeco you can now feel included in all social gatherings and connected to others, but in a responsible way.”
“Building on the success that all formats in the core range achieved over the past year, GCF will be launching several flavour extensions of the Nozeco brand in the coming months using exciting new recipes to give consumers all the great aromas and taste they’ve come to expect from Nozeco, but without the alcohol.”
