Les Jamelles launches premium Languedoc rosé Reflets Secrets to compete with France’s best

Languedoc pioneer, Delaunay Vins & Domaines, has unveiled a new premium Pays d’Oc rosé as part of the portfolio of its flagship brand, Les Jamelles, which sells over 6 million bottles a year in more than 50 countries worldwide. Reflets Secrets, created by oenologue and co-founder of Delaunay Vins & Domaines, Catherine Delaunay, has been crafted to bring to light the Languedoc’s capacity to produce exceptional rosé worthy of competing with some of France’s best-known examples in the category.

‘Reflets Secrets’ is an expression of Catherine Delaunay’s passion and commitment to the Languedoc and her continued quest to showcase the quality and diversity of the region and its wines. On the release of Reflets Secrets, Catherine Delaunay explains “I’ve explored the Languedoc extensively for over 25 years now and I am absolutely convinced that this region has the potential to produce the best rosés in France and that is my goal in creating Reflets Secrets.”

The wine blends classic Languedoc varietals Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, with a little something extra, as she goes on to reveal: “This signature rosé combines the savoir-faire in identifying the best terroirs and the vinification and blending expertise of Les Jamelles, with my secret ingredient – a touch of Mourvèdre. This unique combination creates an exceptional gastronomic rosé combining freshness, minerality and complexity.”

With grapes sourced from three terroirs in the Pays d’Oc, Reflets Secrets, combines the roundness and richness of fruit from the Mediterranean influenced Béziers coastline with the freshness and minerality brought by the sandy soils of the Etang de Thau and the structure bestowed by the clay-limestone soils of the hillsides of Narbonne. Vinification sees Catherine and her team select the best free-run juices from each of the grape varieties, which go on to be fermented separately, then aged on fine lees for six months in stainless steel tanks at the state of the art Les Jamelles winery at Monze, in the heart of Corbières.

The result is a perfectly pale pink and expressive wine, with a complex nose alive with notes of rose, fresh red fruits – raspberry and cherry as well as hints of grapefruit, orange zest, pepper and verbena. With a rounded, full palate, balancing aromatic richness with great freshness, Reflets Secrets ends with a long finish, lifted by notes of grapefruit and yuzu.

Retailing at £12, Reflets Secrets, joins the Les Jamelles family, a consumer-focussed range of varietal wines, developed to showcase the quality, diversity and outstanding value for money of the Languedoc.

” Our main aim when we created Les Jamelles has not changed since 1995. Our vision has always been completely focussed on consumers to deliver the style of wines that they want to drink which brings to life the diverse terroirs, grape varieties and conviviality of the Languedoc region. The new, premium offering we’ve created in Reflets Secrets speaks to our consumers who are looking for an elegant, expressive, pale pink, gastronomic rosé which they feel proud to serve,” says Catherine Delaunay.
